Our client, a specialist consultancy, is supporting a Global Specialty Insurer in a strategic data transformation initiative. The organisation operates globally & is structured into several regional divisions. The group is seeking to establish a scalable, repeatable data architecture framework to onboard & manage global contracts more effectively.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a Senior Data Architect to act as a trusted advisor, reviewing current data architecture & recommending improvements to support enterprise-wide scalability, governance, & reporting consistency.

This opportunity is an urgent role with Interviews & start in the next 2 weeks.

*Candidates MUST show previous experience in Specialty / London Markets Insurance*

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of existing data architecture across regional divisions.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, & key person dependencies in current data management & reporting processes.
• Develop recommendations for a scalable, repeatable enterprise-wide data architecture framework.
• Collaborate with internal teams leading governance & process standardisation.
• Define best practices for data lineage, metadata management, & documentation.
• Advise on integration & harmonisation of reporting platforms (SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python).
• Support the creation of robust controls & standardised processes for regulatory reporting.
• Ensure architectural recommendations align with business goals & regulatory requirements.

Essential Experience:

• Previous experience within Specialty/London Markets insurance
• Proven track record as a Senior Data Architect in complex, multi-region environments.
• Deep expertise in data strategy, governance, & data management frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data lineage, metadata, & documentation standards.
• Experience working with insurance or financial services data.
• Familiarity with reporting tools & platforms: SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams & influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience designing scalable data architectures for global organisations.
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in insurance.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with data cataloguing tools & enterprise data governance platforms.
