Rate: £750 per day (Inside IR35)

A leading Specialist Insurer is seeking an Application Support Manager to lead & develop a small team responsible for the ongoing support, stability, & optimisation of their Policy Administration System (PAS) & wider business-critical applications.

This is a hands-on management role, ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise, particularly in SQL with proven leadership experience. You'll oversee a team of three application support analysts, ensuring operational excellence while remaining an escalation point for complex incidents & system issues.

The business is in the midst of several programme initiatives, making this an exciting opportunity to influence improvements & enhance the resilience of key systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage & mentor a team of Application Support Analysts, ensuring high-quality service delivery & effective issue resolution.
  • Oversee day-to-day support & maintenance of the Policy Administration System (PAS) & associated insurance applications.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing hands-on problem-solving where required.
  • Collaborate with IT, Change, & Underwriting teams to maintain data integrity, optimise performance, & support system enhancements.
  • Identify & implement process improvements, documentation standards, & automation opportunities to improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Application Support or Support Management role within the Insurance sector
  • Strong technical skills in SQL Server, including complex query writing, troubleshooting, & performance tuning
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Policy Administration Systems or similar core insurance platforms
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, & communication skills
  • Experience leading small technical teams & providing hands-on escalation support in a fast-paced environment
