Scrum Master | Specialist Insurer
£400 - £450 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 6-Month Contract | Hybrid | London

A Specialist Insurer is seeking a technically minded Scrum Master to support the delivery of a portfolio of technology change initiatives.

This role would suit a Scrum Master who has progressed from a hands-on Software Developer or Engineering background & is comfortable leading Agile teams delivering cloud-based applications & platforms. 
The successful candidate will work closely with Developers, Architects, QA Engineers & Product Owners, helping teams deliver complex technology solutions whilst embedding Agile best practices.

Whilst the role sits within the insurance sector, the hiring manager is open to candidates from technology-led organisations where engineering excellence, DevOps practices & modern software delivery methodologies are deeply embedded.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives.
• Remove blockers & impediments impacting delivery teams.
• Coach Agile teams on Scrum principles & best practices.
• Work closely with Product Owners to support backlog refinement & prioritisation.
• Track delivery progress, sprint metrics & team performance.
• Foster collaboration between technical teams & business stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve team effectiveness & delivery outcomes.
• Support the successful delivery of multiple concurrent technology projects.
• Help development teams adopt & improve modern software delivery practices across the full development lifecycle.

Required Experience

• Proven experience working as a Scrum Master within software engineering & technology delivery environments.
• Previous background in Software Development, Engineering, Technical Delivery or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience leading Agile development teams delivering cloud-based applications, platforms or digital products.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, test automation & cloud deployment practices.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum & Kanban methodologies.
• Demonstrable experience removing delivery blockers & improving team performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management & facilitation skills.
• Experience working with Developers, Architects, QA Engineers, Platform Engineers & Business Analysts.
• Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps & Confluence.
