A leading specialist (re)insurer is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a development background to join their dynamic & forward-thinking technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of DevOps within development teams, champion best practices, & drive a culture of automation & efficiency across the software delivery lifecycle. You will be helping them implement a strong CI/CD process for a fully automated release process.

The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will embed within development teams, ensuring smooth CI/CD processes, automating software deployments, & optimising cloud-based application delivery. You will bring deep expertise in Java or Node / React development using containerisation & take ownership of DevOps initiatives within engineering teams. This is a hands-on role where you will influence the DevOps culture, introduce best-in-class tooling, & enhance cloud-native development practices. This would not be a platform engineering role so you would not be suitable unless you have formerly been a developer.
Key Responsibilities
- Define & implement DevSecOps strategies within development teams.
- Develop & maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Java or Node / React applications.
- Experience with SonarQube or similar
- Drive best practices in cloud-native application deployment on Azure.
- Work closely with developers to enhance build automation, release management, & deployment strategies.
- Optimise observability, logging, & monitoring within development environments.
- Troubleshoot & resolve build, deployment, & performance issues.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong hands-on experience in DevOps & CI/CD pipeline automation (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions preferred).
- Software development background in Python Java or React (Node).
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, networking, & security best practices.
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
- Exposure to GitHub migration (desirable but not essential).
