Senior CMDB Consultant
Contract Length: Initial 6 Months
Location: Hybrid (London)
Rate: £600 - £650 per day
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Role Overview
Our client, a leading global Professional Services organisation, is looking for a Senior CMDB Consultant to lead the next phase of its ServiceNow CMDB journey. Following an implementation around 18 months ago, the CMDB has remained largely dormant the business is now looking to embark on the next stage of its CMDB maturity, transforming it into a governed, trusted & continually improving strategic asset that delivers value across the wider organisation.
Reporting to the IT Director, this is a blended role requiring both hands-on technical expertise & strategic consulting capability. You'll assess the current environment, improve data quality & governance, take ownership of the day-to-day configuration of the CMDB, & define a roadmap that aligns the platform with wider business objectives. You'll also act as the key advocate for the CMDB, engaging stakeholders across the business to demonstrate its value & drive long-term adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the current CMDB, improving data quality, configuration, governance & overall platform health
- Take hands-on ownership of ServiceNow CMDB administration, including CI classes, relationships, Discovery, Service Mapping & reconciliation rules
- Develop & implement a strategic roadmap that aligns the CMDB with wider business & technology objectives
- Establish governance, ownership & processes to ensure the CMDB remains accurate, trusted & continuously improving
- Engage with technical & business stakeholders to promote the value of the CMDB & drive organisational buy-in
Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on ServiceNow CMDB experience, including configuration, administration & platform optimisation
- Previous experience recovering, improving or maturing an underutilised CMDB environment
- Experience developing CMDB strategy, governance frameworks or CSDM roadmaps
- Strong consulting & stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience within Professional Services, Legal Services or other complex, regulated environments would be advantageous
