Summary:

A specialist London Market insurer is seeking an experienced Claims Platform Architect to lead the functional design of a new claims platform built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. The role bridges business & technology, translating the Target Operating Model (TOM) into clear, buildable & testable solution designs.

The architect will act as the functional authority, mentor senior analysts, guide backlog decisions, & ensure configuration-first design & platform integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the functional design of the claims platform, converting TOM principles into clear functional specifications, workflows, MI requirements, & integration touchpoints.
  • Partner with Product Owners & mentor the Senior Business Analyst to maintain a high-quality backlog aligned to TOM & delivery priorities.
  • Own the Dynamics 365 configuration blueprint, identifying where configuration meets requirements versus where extension is needed, ensuring maintainability & upgrade paths.
  • Support governance & Design Authority decisions, producing clear papers & maintaining documentation of all design standards & decisions.
  • Contribute to test readiness, adoption, & training materials to ensure successful platform implementation & operational uptake.

Requirements:

  • Deep functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365, with hands-on experience across enterprise-scale processes.
  • Strong claims domain knowledge, including end-to-end claims operations, controls, MI, & regulatory considerations.
  • Proven experience translating Target Operating Models (TOM) into configuration-first solutions.
  • Skilled in shaping & guiding high-quality backlogs in collaboration with Product Owners & BA teams.
  • Experience operating within structured governance, including Design Authority or architecture boards, & producing clear documentation for decision making.
