Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Cloud & Infrastructure as Code to help scale & evolve a complex cloud estate. This is a hands-on contract role focused on building & optimising Azure environments using Terraform & Azure DevOps Pipelines, with a strong emphasis on automation, governance, & scalability.

Role

Lead the design & deployment of Azure infrastructure using Terraform & IaC best practices.
Maintain & enhance Azure DevOps (ADO) Pipelines, including YAML-based automation & containerised build agents.
Collaborate with engineering & platform teams to embed DevOps principles & streamline cloud operations.
Troubleshoot & optimise Azure networking components, including vNet peering, NSGs, & routing.
Manage & monitor Azure services such as VMs, storage accounts, SQL databases, Data Factory, & Key Vaults.
Implement governance controls, cost management strategies, & security policies across the cloud estate.
Contribute to documentation, process improvement, & team enablement through mentoring & knowledge sharing.

Essential Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in Azure Cloud Infrastructure, with recent hands-on delivery in enterprise environments.
Expert-level proficiency in Terraform, including module creation & environment provisioning.
Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines, YAML scripting, & CI/CD workflows.
Solid understanding of PowerShell, Azure CLI, & scripting for automation.
Familiarity with Azure services such as Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, & Monitor.
Experience with cloud governance, including RBAC, tagging, cost control, & Defender for Cloud.
AZ-900 & AZ-104 certifications are highly desirable.
Experience with network troubleshooting in Azure environments.
