Location: London
Contract requirement for a hands-on Analytics Engineer on a 6-month contract for a London Market broker. This is a role for a self-motivated, proactive self-starter, to support the business as it enters a modernisation journey towards a cloud platform. You will work with on-prem SQL Server writing complex SQ queries, develop Python & open-source analytics solutions, & help migrate scripts & workflows to GitHub as part of this transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, & optimise SQL Server databases & queries.
- Build Python scripts & open-source solutions to enhance reporting & analytics.
- Support the migration of existing workflows & code to GitHub, enabling version-controlled, reproducible analytics.
- Collaborate with business & IT stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
- Assist in transitioning from traditional on-premises processes to modern, scalable solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with SQL Server & writing complex SQL queries.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis & automation.
- Familiarity with GitHub or other version control systems.
- Experience with open-source analytics tools is a plus.
- Previous experience in financial services or insurance is advantageous but not essential.
