SQL Developer - Actuarial

An experienced SQL developer is needed for a Fortune 500 Insurer. This Lloyd's market organisation are undergoing a huge amount of technological change throughout all departments and are looking to hire a talented data professional to join their Actuarial division. In order to best serve the wider company, their SQL server experts now sit across each division, providing a first-class service to their respective verticals.

Reporting to Head of Reserving, you will lead the maintenance and improvement of the reserving team's database, building new reports, enhancing existing ones and coaching other colleagues on developing models. Your experience in Functions, Stored Procedures, Insert Statements and Update Queries will provide an exceptional data environment for the team. This is a forward-thinking organisation who are looking to automate their actuarial process as much as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent SQL Developer to move into a more senior position with more responsibility and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhancing analysis tool speed
  • Update reserving model reporting
  • Support integration of new policy administrations data into actuarial process
  • Support automation of actuarial process
  • Present analysis of technical content

Requirements:

  • Lloyd's / London market experience will be a significant advantage
  • Exposure to actuarial departments/processes
  • Full MS / Microsoft environment - SQL server, T-SQL, Excel, VBA
  • Able to communicate effectively actuarial terms to wider business
  • Excellent problem-solving and data visualisation skills
