Summary
A leading Lloyd's of London Insurer is looking to recruit a Scrum Master to join the business to work within the Agile Delivery function.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor scrum teams on Agile/scrum practices to maximise output and quality
- Facilitate discussion and decision making within the scrums and wider teams
- Ensure definitions for "ready" and "done" are clear, consistent and agreed by scrum
- Remove blockers, distractions and interference for scrum teams allowing them to focus on output
- Create, maintain and publishs metrics on scrum output, velocity, burndown and quality
- Facilitate the team ceremonies for sprint planning, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives
- Assist (and educate) the Product Owners to maintain good quality, well maintained backlogs
- Partner with Product owners to ensure pre-planning activities are on track and pulls in delivery partners where needed for awareness and dependency discussions
- Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning while managing the productivity within the time-box, ensuring teams have what they need to finalise their plans
- This includes timely preparation of the event; gathering materials, smooth agenda, speakers, confluence set up, invites, webex, etc. Also includes post planning communications.
- Facilitate Scrum of Scrums (S2) and Scrum of Scrum of Scrums (S3) to mitigate any risks or blockers to the delivery of the wider team plan
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops and iterative retrospectives and help them improve
- Manage and optimise the flow of value through the train using Jira, including program and solution kanbans.
- Develop and maintain progress metrics, overall maturity and health of delivery
- Proactively monitor and drive delivery goals to include release readiness and completion of dependencies
- Encourage collaboration between teams and delivery partners
- Ensures team adherence to controls and governance/standards set by the Agile Release Train (Timely sprint closure, Jira field standards, etc.)
- Understand and operate within lean budgets and ensure adherence to guardrails
- Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Facilitate Mid point Check-ins and system demos
- Foster communities of practice, introducing new and advanced practices to improve team(s) delivery
Requisite Experience
- Prior experience as a Senior Scrum Master in large organisation/organisations
- A pragmatic, resilient and highly driven personality, delivery driven
- Practical demonstrable experience and knowledge of Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework methodology
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
- Highly numerate and literate - able to define and present metrics that are relevant to delivery
- Experience working with multiple delivery partners in the execution of IT projects
