Scala Developer - Scala, Pulsar, Functional Programming, Haskell

Scala Developer required for a leading international Investment Banking. The team have built a state-of-the-art automatic trading platform for Fixed Income products. The next step is to reengineer the Scala code base in a brownfield environment to support future automated modelling infrastructure and trading algorithms. The successful Scala developer will work closely with various business areas including front office and other technology teams in a truly global environment.

You will be an excellent problem-solver and have a strong grasp of functional programming in Scala. Whilst situated alongside Quants and PhD Mathematicians, your focus will be to deliver innovate solutions in a software engineering capacity. Joining a team of six, you work will be pivotal in the team's architecture, design and coding of the next generation of technology infrastructure. You will be an excellent communicator and have a deep understanding of computer science methodologies.

This contract is for an initial 6 months Inside IR35 and will be fully remote with the United Kingdom. Industry domain knowledge is not necessary for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop functional Scala architecture, design and coding
• Work alongside experts in software engineering, machine learning and data analysis
• Deliver solutions to one of the most advances automatic trading platforms in Fixed Income
• Reengineer next generation of infrastructure
• Solve business challenges and provide solutions as they arise

Requirements:

• Considerable experience in functional Scala programming
• PhD or MSc in Computer Science or related field - formal stochastic mathematics is a significant advantage
• Experience in building large scale applications
• Demonstrate a high level of communication and the ability to forge relationships with others
• Ability to work with team members from different specialisms
