Lead Java Developer

My client is a global Financial Services firm based in City of London seeking a Lead Java Developer with strong experience with core Java development. You will work alongside the existing developers and Architects to agree on design and developed solutions working on the internal platform system, but also follow development guidelines. The project is based around centralising 5 different DataLakes into 1, which will give you plenty of exposure to exciting new technology.

As a Lead Java Developer, you will need to be forward thinking and brings ideas and solutions forward and keep parties up to date with progress and issues with development.

You will contribute and be involved to the management of the project, giving input within the require time frames.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong Java 8+
  • Junit
  • Restful Api
  • Microservices
  • AWS
  • Maven & NPM
  • Git & SVN
  • RESTful Services/ Json
  • Strong SQL and RDBMS knowledge (PostgreSQL ideally)

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Testing Methodologies: TDD/BDD
  • JEE 7+
  • Microservicepatterns
  • Openshift or other container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of Agile principles
  • CI/CD (using Jenkins)


Proven track record and solid background in Java Development, Angular2+ and has worked on environment like Openshift.
