Lead DevOps Engineer - Remote

Lead DevOps Engineer is needed for a global insurance firm. The company are beginning their DevOps journey and will be looking for someone to come in and lead their implementation of DevOps practices, whilst learning about DevOps architecture and gradually moving into an Architect position.

This is a fully hands on role where you will be able to shape the function moving forward in line with company strategy. You will be working alongside an Enterprise Architect that will be helping guide you on DevOps architecture. They are moving into OpenShift technology and will need you to be the lead from a technical standpoint.

This is a senior role on greenfield architecture allowing you to have a real say in how they move forward. They are open to you being based remotely around the UK, with the notion to infrequently visiting their offices in London/Birmingham.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain DevOps strategy
  • Own strategic vision and implementation
  • Monitor all aspects of the SDLC

Key Skills:

  • CI/CD automation
  • Containerisation (Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform)
  • Cloud native architecture (REST, APIs, Microservices, Spring Boot)
  • Solid understanding of a cloud model (AWS/Azure/Private)
  • Application test automation products
  • Database technology (Relational and Non)
