Data Scientist - Python, SQL, Fund Management

Exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking data department within a top asset management company. Having previously reported into the operations vertical, the Data team now sits within Fund Management, in order to best-leverage data and directly contribute to the organisation's success. This is an opportunity with a fantastic culture where collaboration and innovation are greatly encouraged - every Friday, you will be given a half day to pursue personal research, development and upskilling. Reporting into the Head of Data Science, you will be business-facing from the start, delivering your findings and insights to wider Fund Management, Distribution and Technology teams. The successful individual will be passionate about technology and development and will enjoy researching, programming and engineering in their spare time.

With a flexible remote-working policy, you'll be able to split your time between their impressive London office and work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive insights which will influence fund management strategy
  • Build models from data scraped from alternative datasets
  • Write whitepapers and present to wider teams
  • Collaborate extensively with Data Engineers and Data Analysts
  • Working in a fast-paced environment to deadlines

Requirements:

  • High ability in Python is essential
  • Solid experience using SQL
  • Demonstrable use of time series data
  • Experience using alternative datasets will be beneficial
  • Outgoing and confident
