Having worked within Change and Transformation recruitment for my entire professional career, my clients and candidates would regard me as an expert in my field across multiple sectors. I’ve helped support clients through full scale transformation programmes both regulatory driven and strategic resulting in the delivery of highly successful and cost-effective solutions.
Why I joined Pioneer
I chose to join Pioneer Search as I bought into the ambition to grow the business across multiple verticals and the large-scale investment into my sector, Change and Transformation. The passion and enthusiasm from owner Mark was also a large factor in my decision making. It’s extremely exciting to join such an ambitious business especially at such a positive time with such a marked increase in business confidence.
The hiring process
I was firstly introduced by a mutual contact to the director of Pioneer Search, Mark Warburton. I interviewed whilst lockdown measures were easing so all initial interviews were held over the phone or via video. Following the two interviews with Mark, I was offered the job the next day. Excited to join Pioneer, I elected to come into the office the following day so I could meet the team and check out the working environment.
I was very impressed, to say the least. The passion and enthusiasm exemplified by Mark immediately inspired me, as well as the standout office environment and other experienced consultants here at Pioneer.
Before I knew it, I was in the office, online and working within an hour on my first day!
My journey at Pioneer so far
I was lucky enough to commence my role with Pioneer during a buoyant period for recruitment and arrived at a full desk of work! Just within my first month of working for Pioneer, I successfully managed to secure 25 interviews for candidates and have already made four placements.
However, one challenge I have embraced since joining Pioneer has been developing a deeper candidate qualification process required for permanent recruitment, which is slightly different to contract recruitment to which I’m more accustomed. Having a leader of a business like Mark who is invested in his staff and making sure they trained in the ‘Pioneer’ way has been imperative to my learning and understanding when it comes to the detail needed for the types of clients and roles I am working on. He has spent time one on one with me to show the way he and Pioneer Search do things and it’s safe to say it’s paid off with 3 permanent placements in the fortnight since! Time well invested!
Training / mentoring
I joined Pioneer Search as an experienced consultant, so Mark was already aware I’m more effective when working autonomously. Aside from little day to day hints and tips & sharing ideas with the team it has been pretty plain sailing!
Looking to the future?
I will keep on relishing in my role of developing the Change & Transformation desk at Pioneer. The opportunities are endless here and it would be highly rewarding to work with more colleagues who specialises in the same platform to win business and, ultimately, help secure more candidates’ new roles!
